As a first-year teacher, starting to teach during a pandemic has been an experience of a lifetime. Despite the uncertainty of teaching/learning, nothing has stopped me from encouraging students to read for fun (except maybe the ability to afford to buy books). Every day, students are required to participate in independent reading. This is a time where students get to choose any book and just read for fun.
For most of my students, independent reading is their favorite part of class. However, many students are reading what they can find in their homes or what they've already read in the past. Through this project, I hope that I will be able to expand a book library and provide new, diverse, and engaging options for them to pick from. Thank you in advance for your donation and support!
