Rooted in Reading is a wonderful resource I use in combination with our Reading & Writing Units of Study curriculum. In order to implement Rooted in Reading. I am requesting a gift card to purchase the Rooted in Reading program for my students. Rooted in Reading includes four read alouds per month and a number of engaging and rigorous activities that go with each. Rooted in Reading is standards based and includes non-fiction readers that complement each of the fictional books. Teaching my Kindergarten students to read is an important job, but teaching them to love reading is even more important.
