My students are pre-dominantly Hispanic and in a low-socioeconomic areas, and I teach over 62 plus LEP students. Most of my students do not experience anything outside of their culture or even leave El Paso, and with books, I feel it will allow them to experience the world around them.
Students struggle with Social Studies and often complain how History is so boring!! I want to change that for them with these books. I want to give my students different ways to learn history, that will help them see different perspectives and engage their curiosity to learn. I want them to see that it doesn't matter where you come from or who you are, you can do anything.
