I have a motto that carries me through the highs and lows of teaching during this pandemic: “plan for today and dream for tomorrow”. I dream of revitalizing my music program with a classroom set of ukuleles. The ukulele is a great addition to the classroom because it is a harmonic instrument. Students will be able to play melodies, chords, AND sing at the same time. We can explore songwriting! Not to mention the ukulele is great for developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The ukulele is affordable, accessible, versatile, portable, and appealing to students! It's a great gateway for students who want to go on to learn guitar or other string instruments. And most importantly, it is FUN!!! The ukulele is the happiest little instrument. And what do kids need now more than ever before? JOY! Thank you for considering our project! Your donation will directly support our music classroom goal and get a ukulele in the hands of a child.
