The materials that I am asking for will be used in a variety of ways. One item on my list is to create a listening center for small groups. Students will plug their computers and headphones into 1 laptop and listen to a story together. I will be targeting students listening and comprehension skills.
Baltimore winters are harsh. My students have been stuck in the classroom because temperatures are below 40 degrees. I realized that I didn't have many board games or fun activities for my learners like slime and Play-Doh. I also would like to add to our playground equipment as many items are broken or missing. Lastly, I wanted to buy books that truly represent the students of Baltimore City.
My students like many other have endured a lot this school year. I am meeting their academic needs to the best of my abilities but I would like to bring that element of fun back in school. Mary Poppins once said, "a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down"!
