During the Covid-19 pandemic, more than ever, students need a 'soft place to land', and an outlet for their nervous/pent up energy. With already tight school budgets being spent on technology resources for students at home, the art budget has been tightened even more than it already was.
Our middle school students are thriving in art class even under the most difficult circumstances, however, with so many restrictions on shared materials, as well as cleaning procedures, my art classroom is lacking enough materials to complete even simple assignments.
I am seeking help in getting our art classroom stocked and ready to go for those who will begin art class after the new year. Much needed paint refills and new brushes, sharpies that we use almost daily, and scissors that are age appropriate are all on my wish list! I would love to begin several projects that document the current state of our world as well as allow my art students to express how they feel about living through a pandemic.
