Music is meant to be experienced! Students learn music more effectively when they are able to experience instruments first hand, but it has been a long time since students have been able to apply their musical knowledge on an instrument. Recorders give students a hands-on opportunity to practice musical concepts during a time where the majority of learning takes place on a screen. Playing the recorder will take students away from the screen and allow them to be creative, develop a sense of musicianship, and improve fine motor skills and cognitive development. During a time where we are learning apart, recorders will be used to create community and a sense of ensemble among students.
