Brand new books will help to engage my second graders whether they are in the classroom reading or if they are reading from home. Because of our hybrid model, students have been bringing books back and forth from home to school. Our classroom books are already a little dated, tired and they have quite a bit of noticeable wear and tear (ripped covers, missing pages, tape on the binding, etc.). New books will encourage and excite students to not only read in the classroom, but to read at home as well.
