The students involved in this project have significant special education needs in the area of reading. Many of them are reading 2-3 grade levels below their peers in their current grade. Our students are regularly receiving Orton-Gillingham reading interventions and to increase the interactivity and engagement, these funds will be used to supplement the instruction provided by special educators with engaging software using the tablets. They will have the opportunity to use these tablets at school for independent centers using software which corresponds with the Orton-Gillingham reading program. Our students are eager learners and the technology will help reinforce strategies taught by the teachers.
About my class
