Students will be reading the Scholastic News Articles in school and we will have classroom conversations regarding the relevant, real-world topics that these magazines offer. Too often, science and social studies are set to the side in elementary classrooms, and this Donors Choose Project will give me the opportunity to further bring diverse literature and curriculum into my classroom. I believe that this will make a huge difference in their learning because young children need to have access to nonfiction literature that is relevant to our society and world today to foster thoughtful, curious, and invested citizens. Students will also have a digital resource in any case if digital-learning will have to once again occur in the district due to the current worldwide pandemic.
