My project is to help each student be able to use math manipulatives (one's cubes, ten rods, counters, dice, coins, etc.) to help them learn their math skills mentally using different strategies. In this box, they will have several math mats they can use to write on or use their manipulatives to help them learn how to solve their math skills for the week. For example, when we learn place value, the students will have a tens and one's chart. They will place their one's cube and ten rods to determine what number they have. This mat can also help them add 2 digit numbers with the help of the ones and ten rods. This box will be placed in their individual desk and can be used at any time when working with math problems. It will also be used for early finisher work where they can play games for math problems.
