Children use play to learn about their world around them. Play allows children to connect to our world and others around them as they build language skills, articulation, and social skills.
My hope is that these games and toys will aid in providing a rich experience for children in speech therapy which they can bring back into their world outside of my classroom. Games allow children to learn new vocabulary, experience turn-taking, practice team building, and learn to deal with losing. Toys make expressive and receptive vocabulary real and provide real opportunities for children to share what they know. All of these items help build onto my students' goals.
