Support Ms. Heather's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
Students cannot learn if they cannot listen or pay attention. Elementary school aged students have not learned how to manage their emotions or control how they react to them. Because of this it makes learning in a classroom while their emotions are high nearly impossible. They need a safe space where they can take a break or talk and calm themselves down before they can return back to class. I am asking for materials to make a space for these students.
All students deserve to feel safe, loved and happy while they are in our building. The calm space/wellness area that I want to create will give our students a place where they can go to talk to someone, learn to manage their emotions, calm themselves down if needed, cry, feel whatever they want, or just exist. With everything going on in the world right now, this are could not be more needed. Anxiety and depression are at an all time high and it is our responsibility and duty to support our students through social and emotional well being.
