Many of my students are English learners and reading will help them with language, vocabulary and comprehension. I am a 1st year teacher and I would love to create an amazing library with books that my students will be interested in. I came into a classroom with books that have been outdated and my students are not engaged or hooked. I want them to be hooked to the point they cannot put their book down. Reading will facilitate English acquisition and my students will love reading and I will not feel like I’m going to war with them when I say, “Take out your book and read.â€
