My second graders need to be able to handwrite, draw, and play math games. So much of their learning is dependent upon staring at a screen and typing. This becomes a real problem for students without stable internet.
Materials like the half-size composition books will give them the ability to practice handwriting and a place to do journaling. The whiteboards will help greatly with practicing math. The plastic sleeves and cardstock will allow me to send home math games that they can play over and over again.
My class loves art and I try to incorporate it into my lessons as much as I can. It's so important that they have access to art materials, because not everything can be done digitally.
