Being seen and heard is one of the important things a student can experience in a class. When a student feels seen and heard, they realize they are valuable; they are included; they are powerful! With our school moving to distance learning, I will be teaching via Google Meet. I want to ensure that my students still feel seen and heard. This is why I am hoping to receive a second monitor.
With a second monitor, I will be able to present the classroom content while still being able to see all the student's faces and access their comments in the chat. This will allow me to conduct visual comprehension checks and provide students the face-to-face interaction they deserve. An additional monitor will also allow me to access any comments students make in the chat. This way I can acknowledge and respond to their comments.
