One of the main joys in music class is being able to play instruments. Due to distance learning the ability to play instruments from class is gone. I teach in the Palm Springs District with a very high number of low income students. Therefore, it is hard to expect parents to provide materials. I would love to provide the access to recorders at home for my older students. These instruments help my students to further their skills in reading music, thinking critically (how loud or soft, long or short do they play) and develop confidence in a new skill that maybe was hard for them at first.
