I teach special education mathematics. Due to COVID-19, all of my classes have been placed in 5 day virtual learning. It's has been a challenge to do what I do online with no personal connection with my students. Helping my students in a one-on-one setting and helping them when they need me, has changed. I need equipment, to stay connected and teach effectively my students for the entire lesson. Currently, I have a 5-year-old Chromebook with a poor Wi-Fi connection, and as I often have to turn the webcam off so I can not lose connection and teach at best. I spend an average of 3-4 hours daily preparing for the next day and equipment does matter.
These items would help me tremendously to stay connected with my students, not spending the majority of my lessons on re-connecting, modify my lessons to virtual presentations in less time, and most importantly, assisting the one who needs me the most.
