The materials in this project will be used to celebrate the diversity amongst our community. The students will learn how we are all alike and at the same time we are all different!
These materials will help the students recognize the diversity in our environment as well as foster a sense of autonomy and self-worth through play.
Role-playing with these materials will help my students to learn that our differences are special and make us all unique individuals. The benefits of role-play learning are an invaluable part of the learning process that stay with children throughout their lives.
Role-playing is so much more than simply pretending to be another person; it gives children the chance to try on new roles and work their way through different challenges. Due to Covid-19 protocols, children are not in close contact for interactive role playing. Funding this project will give them access to materials to use in their individualized, safe space within the classroom. All materials must be made of washable material for safety.
