I teach students with a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I want to engage my students in literature that is relevant to their lives and reflective of their diversity. I hope to create literature circles in a reader's workshop-style setting so students can drive their own literacy through inquiry and collaboration with others. Thanks for helping me achieve this goal! Not only will these books apply to my classroom, but they'll be shared with two other teachers, reaching more than one hundred students! I'm excited to see how these students will travel and explore through literacy.
