My students come from Brookline, Beechview, Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, the DRC, Rwanda, Iraq, Iran, Uzbek, Nicaragua, the North Side, Nepal, Somalia, and the Hill and Garfield. Some walk to school, others cross two rivers and use public transportation. Others catch yellow school busses. Everyone is trying to make friends, find their place, and navigate a US city public high school.
