For students with disabilities, putting instruction to music is often the key to make the information stick. Additionally, students without vision can be at a disadvantage since print and visual materials are the norm. Using the auditory joy of music will not only be fun, but allow students to learn in a format that is more accessible for them.
Utilizing 2 keyboards, instead of one, will give a level of independence to my students as they can practice their auditory skills to imitate what I play on my keyboard. By teaching in this way, students with visual impairment can be taught using one of their strengths, instead of trying to accommodate for their greatest weakness of sight.
