As a reading teacher, I want my sweet Kindergarten students to be able to to sit as a class on a fuzzy rug while I read to them and provide them the opportunity to explore their classroom library in a cozy nook. This year, we are maintaining our 3-6 feet distance and using materials that can be sanitized easily; which means no rugs. I would like to provide my students with their own personal library on the back of their chairs to choose their own book as they would in the library. The sensory seats would give them the opportunity to remain in their own area while having a change of seating with movement. As a first year teacher I started the school year with a small number of materials. This project would give me the opportunity to providing engaging independent activities to support my Kinders in their journey to reading.
