As a math teacher, teaching algebra concepts are really abstract and difficult to understand and apply, it is not always easy, especially for younger students. The use of manipulative can be important tools in helping students to think and reason in more meaningful ways. The use of manipulative is recommended and supported by both learning theory and educational research in the classroom. My students will have the opportunity to work individual or in small groups. Working in groups will help them learn the importance of team building while also improving their relationships with their peers.
