Teaching in a remote/hybrid classroom has its challenges when it comes to "hands-on" resources for learning. The reading phonics packs would be an amazing "hand-on" resource for each of my students when they are working from home. Students spend half of their day learning by using technology or being taught through it. Having learning materials that can be physically touched like a book, provide students with a more "hands-on" learning experience.
Hands-on materials allow students to make connections with their learning through all of their senses.
Flexible Seating in the classroom would be very beneficial not only to my fidgety students, but it would also provide all of my students with another type of seating. Students who attend in-person hybrid instruction often struggle to sit in one spot (a social distancing guideline established by the district) during their learning day. Flexible seating would allow my students to stay focused and engaged in their learning and provide them another seating option. When students are given the opportunity to make choices, they feel important and gain a sense of independence.
