We are in the process of becoming a Certified STEM School. Our students love our monthly STEM challenge. This kit will provide a deeper understanding of World Challenges to water conservation. They will learn how water can be used efficiently to reduce unnecessary water usage. According to Fresh Water Watch, water conservation is important because fresh clean water is a limited resource, as well as a costly one. The students will learn and understand how to turn saltwater into clean fresh water by building a working solar still to desalinate water. The students will be able to see how math is an important skill to solve water conservation. They will also receive math skill cards to improve their ability to measure, add, and subtract.
