I have a 2nd generation iPad in my classroom that we use during center time, as a motivator, and for recording assessments. This iPad is no longer able to update my SeeSaw program, which I use for communication and observation documentation. SeeSaw is a great platform to be able to maintain a digital journal of student work, and give assessments individualized to the students.
I cannot create SeeSaw activities on this iPad, and students get frustrated when they are working on the iPad and it crashes. Students will have 1-1 iPads when they leave preschool and enter kindergarten, so becoming familiar with this specific device will give them a leg-up when they transition into kindergarten. I would like to begin by fundraising for one iPad, and then seek out grant possibilities to secure more iPads to utilize during small group instruction.
