It's been over eight months since most of my students have held an instrument in their hands. They will be able to play recorders which will help them read music, continue developing their eye-hand coordination, and help them create their own music. For my fourth and fifth graders, they will continue learning and honing their skills from previous years. For my third graders, they will be learning the recorder for the first time. Virtually learning music is challenging but with an instrument in their hands, they will be able to move away from screen learning and activate their minds in a much needed different way.
