Access to art supplies in our English classroom will help students go beyond the words on the page. Students crave creative outlets and different ways to express their thoughts and opinions. By providing them art supplies they will be able to draw connections between the texts we read and the world they live in in new ways that will move them past basic responses.
By donating to this project, students will claim ownership over their thoughts and idea because they will be sharing them in their own unique ways. This provides students with the opportunity to move past telling and gives them the chance to show what they know.
