My students come from low economic families. They attend a class every day, hoping to master the English language, have social interaction, and become better learners. I love teaching in city schools, where I work with students from many different backgrounds and cultures. In my classroom, we come together as one. We learn to appreciate each other's cultures proudly and respectively while trying to promote an engaging and fun learning environment.
Giving my students the ability to learn visually has always been an important consideration in providing multiple ways of learning. Students are asked to read and often need supplements for their learning and understanding of the material.
I am confident my students will benefit when viewing my explanations and tutorials. I am looking to further my pedagogy with PowerPoint presentations, recording lectures on Screencast-O-Matic, and uploading them to YouTube with closed captions for asynchronous learning. Having a mobile device to transfer this information to my students will help satisfy this request.
