Each class of my mix of special education and general education students has worked hard to become singular units. Many of my students find in-person learning so much easier than remote learning, but many are remaining remote for a variety of reason. When hybrid started, our dynamic changed. The only difference was that we were no longer in the same (Zoom) room.
My students want to be able to collaborate, but those in the classroom can't see those at home and vice versa. This technology will "unchain" me from my desk and allow me to teach from the front of the class, like I would in a "normal" year. The students at home will see their classmates on the webcam attached to my laptop and the large screen will let those in the room see their peers at home.
So even though we will be safely apart, everyone will feel like we're part of the same group.
