The materials I chose for this project will enhance my teaching, both in school and virtually. First, the document camera will allow me to share my model of authentic writing with both cohorts of students. I am currently sharing my writing with students using a Google Document. I do not find this strategy as effective as writing on paper. I like to include mistakes and lack of punctuation so that my students can help me edit. The document camera will allow me to do just that!
Since I am teaching virtual learners 5 day a week, I would really like to optimize their experience. The laptop stand will allow me to redirect my camera more easily so students can see me when I chance teaching locations in the classroom. The wireless keyboard and mouse will increase the areas in my classroom where I can teach. It would be nice to be closer to my students and not be tied to my laptop all day.
Visual timers are essential for young learners to stay focused and learn time management. They are especially helpful for students with special needs. I would love to have 2 timers. I often have students completing different activities at the same time. Two timers would allow for the differentiation that I really need!
Lastly, I added a gift card for Teachers Pay Teachers. This site has been so helpful when searching for digital materials. I would really like to purchase online phonics instructional materials for my class. We cannot use our phonics materials currently because they require students to manipulate pieces. I would like to purchase materials that students can still manipulate virtually using Google Slides.
I believe the items I chose will enhance my instruction during this difficult year.
