As teachers, we must prepare our students for the world that they will grow into. The LEGO WeDo 2 will help teach the basic understanding of coding to 4th and 5th graders. Students will also learn how to follow step-by-step directions in a how-to manual when they build their robots. Coding is a "foreign" language that, if taught at a young age, is more easily understood. My goal is to teach step-by-step coding to 9- to 11-year-olds so that they have a basic understanding of coding language and processes and will not be afraid to attempt coding for fun or in a class in the future. Working with coding at a young age builds confidence and basic understanding going forward.
