The AKJ books that I have selected would be the perfect addition to my classroom library. This is my first year teaching and my students need books to meet their reading goals. After reading each book, student will be allowed to take an Accelerated reading Quiz. Taking this quizzes will help them meet their reading goals in my classroom. Students will enjoy the colorful pictures which help beginning readers understand the meaning of the text. These 34 books also integrate best research-base practices for close reading, text analysis, writing to text, narrative and expository writing, and fluency development. We could use the books for the whole class, small group, and independent practice. I also like that these books are leveled to reach below level, on grade, level, and above grade level student. Kids like to laugh. Students would love reading these funny books. I have set individual reading goals for each student. We need interesting books written specifically for second grade. I know these books will engage my students as they learn to take comprehension quizzes, develop self confidence, and improve their fluency. The books range from below grade level to advance, making this set perfect for my students. I am also requesting a TPT gift card to help my student understand comprehension skills. Help us meet and exceed our reading goals. Thank you for your consideration!
