Our students have access to plenty of digital resources but desperately need more opportunities to engage in off-screen reading experiences as they are currently spending most of their school day on their iPads and Chromebooks. Their access to libraries right now is limited due to COVID and getting real books in their hands would make a huge difference! These books will be used to develop literacy and language skills for our students learning remotely. All the books selected correlate with our district reading and language curriculum and would provide additional off-screen reading opportunities for students. These books would help my students to limit their screen time and provide rigorous and engaging reading experiences.
