Students in our state in 4th grade are expected to learn and understand about types of energy, simple machines, and transportation systems in their science curriculum. This set would allow them to understand how solar power can move the car, but also see how batteries can give assistance when there is no sun.
There is no better way to teach students about simple machines than to let them build and see one themselves. Students need to be able to help construct and see how simple machines work and it will give them a greater understanding of how the entire transportation system works.
