Each year our class competes in the annual Michigan Department of Transportation bridge building competition! MDOT generously supplies balsa wood for each team but the extra balsa wood is needed for teams to create multiple bridges that we test until failure so that students can learn from their previous designs as they continue to iterate on their successes! Students that get accepted into the competition get to travel to Grand Rapids, present to a team of engineers, and stay overnight as their bridge competes against those from around the state!

About my class
