I am a first year Science/Social Studies Teacher with very fe personal resources that I am stealing from my children closet. I strongly believe in experiential learning and I am already seeing my class engage when I bring in solar cells and solar powered wind turbines. My kids were so excited to build I brought in a few legos so they could be builders when work is finished early. One 4th grade girl exclaimed " I'm sorry if I seem like a lunatic but I have never in my life played with legos. This tells you something about my group. They have very little and their schools have had very little as well. I want to give these kids the foundations they have missed. They don't know what to make of the heavy legos ( battery packs and magnets). Little by little to keep them engaged.
