The materials that I am seeking for my students will help them make progress towards mastering speech and language goals. Each student who is eligible for speech therapy services has individualized goals that target his or her specific areas of need. The phonological awareness materials, target sound books and CVC pattern materials will benefit students with phonological and articulation delays. The materials targeting social language skills and understanding emotions will assist my students who have social language needs; these students often struggle to understand the subtle environmental clues from which they can infer the perspectives of the people around them. The materials targeting language skills such as sight word sentences, comparing sizes, prefixes and suffixes, categories and word associations, sequencing, idioms and figurative language, and parts of speech would help students who are working on individualized areas of language need.
The donations to this project will help my students improve their communication skills by providing materials that explicitly target their individualized areas of need.
We will use these materials to help students work on areas of weakness until they become mastered skills. As the speech pathologist at my schools, I have attended trainings and continuing education seminars to learn current research and strategies for assessing my students and helping them to improve skills in their areas of need. My students and I would greatly appreciate your support in providing materials that help them make progress on their individualized goals.
