Kindergartener students need hands on writing experiences daily with reading and math at this early stage of their learning. These manipulatives will allow my Kindergarten students to have equality in virtual learning by having these instructional materials at home. By providing dry erase boards with markers, my students can write out their assignments. By providing the snap cubes and two-sided counters, my students will see the concepts come to life. They will be able to demonstrate their learning with positive outcomes as we use will be using our whiteboards daily.
Guilford County Schools is one of the districts in the state of North Carolina that has a low socio-economic status. Most parents cannot afford the supplies that their children need for learning. Our Virtual Kindergarten students need the same supplies that are afforded to the students in the brick-and-mortar schools. Given that the majority of are students are from a low socioeconomic background status, we cannot ask them to supply their own materials. Many are unable to provide the hands-on materials necessary for early childhood learning. I want my students to be prepared for first grade and beyond.
