Today's classrooms require technology. My second graders are eager to learn. It is so important to engage students in their learning and to help them feel they are the owners of their learning. I want the students to have choices on how they learn. The iPads give them those choices, to develop and understand their own learning. As the world is becoming more technology based, we will build on the Twenty-First Century skills that students need to be college and career ready.
Early learners need technology that is developmentally appropriate to them. The donations to my project will help me build an environment that is student-centered, creates student-directed learning and develop skills for the future through using technology.
As STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) is being integrated more into the classroom, students need to research and explore topics. The iPads give my students that ability and open up the possibilities for so much learning in my classroom.
