Here is a different idea for PE class. How about teaching them all kinds of different yard games! I have been bringing in various yard games from my home to play with the kids (ladder golf, corn hole, lawn darts, etc). They are fun. They are physical. They are outdoors. I want to teach these kids that exercise isn’t just playing football at your school or being a marathon runner. There are so many options to moving your body. These options can be fun and social. These options can be screen free and with groups of people. What a winning combination: friends, outdoors, and physical activity! Let’s improve their moods, reduce stress, reduce anxiety and depression, boost self esteem, enhance body image - therefore improving their cognitive performance! My motto for my students is ...Exercise is a necessity to life!
