My students have access to our classroom library, which has a large variety of different reading levels (everything from board books to picture books to beginner chapter books).
However, having a leveled library in the classroom will allow students to access books at their independent reading level, which will increase their motivation because they will be able to successfully read the text. Having several books on-level will also help create an environment that's positive and encouraging reading. The books can also be used in literacy centers, as well as individual reading practice.
