By helping me to provide these materials for my students you are allowing them to have activities geared specifically to their individualized learning goals. As a teacher in a high-need self-contained exceptional children's classroom, my students need vary widely from simply understanding the concept of working independently to beginning readers. Also each each year can be completely different. Currently we have students K-2 with one 5th grader but next year could bring us a completely different group of students with completely different needs from our current group.
Also, with our students we focus on more than just academics. We also work on daily living skills as well as social emotional skills, gross and fine motor skills, and communication skills. We need materials that can address the wide variety of objectives we are working to accomplish with our students and there is just not enough time in the day to focus on students needs and create the materials to meet those needs, that is where Teachers Pay Teachers saves the day. We want to be able to get the best materials for our students and not be limited to only those that are free.
