I am requesting a subscription to Scholastic News and Science Spin. Scholastic News has always been a great way to teach students what is going on in the world around them in a student friendly way. My students will learn to read, enjoy, and learn from informational text. Often times informational text can be dry and boring, but by giving my students Scholastic News, I will be able to teach them that non-fiction doesn't have to mean non-interesting. Since we are virtual, I will be able to give my students access to these Scholastic News sources digitally. They will be able to use these resources synchronously and asynchronously. Scholastic News was always something I enjoyed reading as a student and I would love to be able to give them that same excitement.
