I love giving students literature and allowing them to engage in meaningful conversations so they are able to connect with historical events while making new connections and evolving as a reader. Using a variety of historical fiction books with a range of reading levels will allow me to carefully group my students in order to use literature that meets their individual needs while giving them an opportunity to make connections and develop an appreciation for a new genre and new authors. These books will be used by students in school and at home to read independently and then discuss collectively. I can't wait to see my students pouring over these books.

About my class
