Many of our students come from single parent households on public assistance, and food stamps. Yet they aspire to achieve by teachers who motivate, dedicate and empower them to succeed academically regardless of environmental factors. We nourish their intellectual, emotional and artistic talents daily. Teaching them social, emotional and academic skills simultaneously. My biggest pleasure is when they become seniors and visit the class to express how you inspired them to change perspectives, mature and contemplate future experiences that they never perceived possible. It makes my heart smile when they tell me the impact I've made in their lives. I'm proud to witness their growth (physical and mental), from 9th grade to 12th. I tear each time they tell me they love me for listening, caring and sharing my time when they needed an ear. Their smiles are priceless. Empowering our future leaders to self-advocate and dream.
