By providing my students with ukuleles to play in music class, I am opening the door to so many valuable music making opportunities! Throughout our remote learning, my students have shown so much interest and excitement for playing instruments and collaborating to make meaningful music.
Collaboration is a valuable skill that I teach in music class, and these ukuleles will allow students to both work in partners and perform together as a class!
Not only are ukuleles a fun and accessible instrument, they are also used to teach important musical concepts and standards. They open the door to conversations about steady beat, rhythm, chords, tonality, expression, improvisation and so much more!
