The use of literacy centers in my classroom is a daily activity. Students work in groups completing different tasks. During this time students ask to work in spaces around the room other than their desks. Having flexible seating options in the classroom will give students the opportunity to work in ways that can help to maintain their attention, and allow them to work in ways that best suit their needs. Whether it be sitting in a chair that still allows them to wiggle, or siting in a chair lower to the floor.
By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve student engagement, but you will allow for these diverse learners to be comfortable in their own way while working.
Kindergarten students learn and adapt in multiple ways. A chair and desk with four legs is not always enough... these young bodies and minds need the flexibility to learn in ways that will benefit them!
