My campus has ukeleles available for students to play; however, we need each musician to have tuners in order to play them. Tuners will help the students to be responsible for having their instrument ready for their own private practice time and for in-class rehearsals. Tuners will help train their musical ear and develop their auditory skills.
The students will be successful in learning to play and perform with their instrument when it is tuned correctly. They will succeed in performing as an individual and as a group. They can learn to receive and give musical feedback as their ear is being trained to learn proper notation, progressions, and intonation. Proper tuning provides a way for students to learn music well, which will improve their math and reading skills as we count and read music.
During our performances, the students need monitors and speakers to help them hear the music they are performing to. The speakers I requested will do just that; they will help the students hear themselves and the accompaniment. Without those speakers, it is very difficult to be successful during a performance. This will give them an opportunity to enjoy their show and listen well!
